We couldn't do what we do without volunteers.

June 1st - June 7th is volunteer's week and it is good to take the opportunity to thank the massive contribution that volunteers make to WCADA every single day.

We greatly value the massive contribution of our voulunteers and every year WCADA report on their achievements in our Annual report:

In this year alone more than 20 volunteers have completed our accredited training program and joined the different teams across Neath Port Talbot, Swansea and Bridgend supporting all aspects of the service that we offer.

WCADA is extremely grateful of the consistently high level of skill that each volunteer brings to the organisation and I am please to say that this recognition has been evidenced by a further 5 volunteers becoming employed at our organisation within the last year. That makes a total of 46 members of the organisation started their WCADA careers as a volunteer with us.

During the period of 2014-2015, WCADA have broadened the spectrum of voluntary placements available. This has helped to retain the experienced volunteers that are already dedicating time to us and to attract some new faces also. We now have a small team of ‘Change Step’ volunteers who provide the much needed peer-support to veterans, we have volunteers doing work with family members and we are also lucky to have the first volunteer placement based in the ABM Alcohol and Drug Single Assessment Service.

Volunteers from all backgrounds continue to dedicate their time and make an essential contribution to the services that we provide, in some cases providing a service that could not be offered with staff alone. Many of our volunteers are facilitating therapeutic groups, conducting assessments, providing administrative support, delivering training and keeping our gardens in check amongst many other necessary tasks.

I am consistently overwhelmed by the level of motivation and experience that all of WCADA’s volunteers bring to this organisation and we cannot thank each and every one of them enough. '
